I attend a lot of potlucks with my husband, but I don’t always have time to spend the entire day in the kitchen. Also, for religious functions or when his parents are visiting us from India I like to have some eggless desserts on hand.
This recipe is insanely easy, but so decadent people will think that you slaved away in the kitchen.
Without further ado the recipe is below.
What You Need:
1 box White Cake Mix
1 1/2C (350 ml) Carbonated/Sparkling Water
1 can Evaporated Milk
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 C Whole Milk (230 ml)
2C Heavy Cream (460 ml)
1C Confectioners/Icing Sugar (220g)
What To Do:
Preheat Oven to 350F (180C), combine cake mix and sparkling water in a mixing bowl, pour in cake pan of your choosing and bake according to directions on box.
In another bowl combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk and whole milk. Once cake is done remove from pan and place on a plate. Then using a fork or skewer poke small holes in the top of the cake and spoon or pour mixture of three milks on top of the cake and let it chill in the refrigerator for a bit.
Once cake has chilled combine heavy or whipping cream, confectioners’ sugar and vanilla in a bowl using a hand mixer on high setting or in a blender (I use a Ninja ). Blend until still peaks form and use this to frost your cake. Place in refrigerator or, if very short on time, freezer until ready to serve.
